Henrik Pontoppidan

Henrik Pontoppidan 1857-1943, writer.
Portrays the conflict, in a broad realistic style, between the dreams of man and the conditions of life, and is based on a naturalist philosophy of life, often mixed with romanticism.
 
He wrote "Lucky Peter" in 1898-04. Received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1917, sharing it with another Danish writer Karl Gjellerup.
