The Skærupdalen Route follows a scenic 28 km trail between Vejle and Fredericia. The route from Vejle to Fredericia takes you along winding country lanes through villages, open landscapes and past areas of great natural beauty, such as the river of Skærup Å.

The valley of Skærupdalen continues west of Rands Inlet, which is today a large freshwater lake of approx. 140 hectares. The hilly landscape around Rands Inlet is dotted with green meadows, pastures, farmlands, wooded valleys and steep gorges. Here you come across open lakes that were once diatomite quarries but now offer a varied waterside vegetation of wildflowers.

Rands Fjord has a rich bird life that includes thousands of lapwings and starlings, which gather for their winter migration in the early autumn. Several of the hills offer scenic views.
