Ulbølle Church

Ulbølle church is in one respect different from nearly all other village churches. The massive church tower is placed on the north side of the church and not – as with most other churches – in the western end of the church. It is assumed that Ulbølle church is from the late 12th century or early 13th century. The church is built mainly of rough fieldstone. The church was extended – time unknown – westwards. The church is covered by four cross vaults of which the eastern one constitutes the choir.
