On 3 November 2010,
VisitDenmark and
Wonderful Copenhagen’s Business Tourism Staff emailed a list of approximately 800 pre-registered buyers attending EIBTM 2010 a special offer the “cOPENhagen – OPEN of Offers” - and the recipients, have all indicated that they organise events in Europe, so why not choose Copenhagen?
On 5 November 2010, the same staff of some 20 persons, located in both Copenhagen and at VisitDenmark’s offices around the world, contacted the same buyers in a joint 1-day telephone sales-blitz campaign to follow up on the offer proposed.
Jonathan Cohen, International Sales and Marketing Manager, Business Tourism at VisitDenmark, comments:
“Our cOPENhagen OPEN for Offers campaign gives us a brilliant opportunity to create a genuine "Sales blitz" running up to - and during - the EIBTM, and as we pride ourselves with a strong working relation between the national and regional tourism organisations, it didn't take us long to decide on joining forces to try and generate more new business into Copenhagen. Being in the “People Business” we also think that simply emailing Buyers isn’t enough; we wish to talk to the people we approach too and create a genuine interest in our destination!”

Additionally, Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark have a lot to offer the International Buyers and Meeting Professionals these days, including the unique Danish
Meetovation concept, strong knowledge within the "Green meetings" area and tailor-made Green Energy study-tour-packages, so the timing is right too", Jonathan Cohen continues.
At EIBTM in late November, VisitDenmark and Wonderful Copenhagen CVB, together with their partners, will follow-up on the extensive pre-show sales blitz too; Hence, the “cOPENhagen OPEN for Offers”-campaign will run during the show too.
A special "cOPENhagen Open for Offers" VIP service desk at the Danish stand i340 is being set up for international buyers interested in taking up the offer. Here buyers who visit the stand and give an indication of their event budget can expect an response of availability and price within an approx. 2 hour-span. International buyers making enquiries at the VIP service desk, will also get the option to enter into a
prize draw for a chance to win a meal for two at the internationally acclaimed 2-star Michelin restaurant
Noma in Copenhagen – also named No. 1 restaurant in the World! – and the prize will include flights with SAS plus accommodation at the 5 star hotel Copenhagen Marriott at the city’s scenic waterfront too.
Visitors at EIBTM should also make sure they visit the Danish stand i340 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12:00, 14:30 and 15:30 for some unusual, interactive and OPENminded "OPEN FOR BUSINESS" showcases and find out why Denmark really can increase their Return On a Meeting Investment (ROmI)!
And finally, for every business lead received between 3rd Nov. - 31st Dec. 2010 in the cOPENnhagen OPEN for Offers-campaign, the buyers will receive a stylish Danish gift as a token of appreciation too.
