Scandic to introduce chic, organic uniform

July 2010

Scandic has just announced its plans to become the first hotel chain in the world to invest in a completely organic uniform for its team members. The uniform will have its own personality and soul, showing the scope of Scandic. The new organic uniform will be designed by a leading fashion designer – to be revealed shortly – making team members proud to wear it and in line with its reputable environmental policies.

The Scandic hotel chain was the first in the industry to actively address environmental issues, and the first to remove all bottled water from its hotels. Now Scandic is set to be the first yet again.

The focus on a new, organic uniform seems to be a natural consequence of the way the Scandic brand has been developing in recent years. Already in the 1990ies Scandic started developing what has become the industry's leading sustainability programme, and the hotel chain has experience of partnering up with global superstars too – over the past two years, British chef Jamie Oliver has produced menus for children and meeting guests at the Scandic hotels. Now, it seems, Jamie Oliver will soon be joined by another star from the fashion industry. Just who exactly is going to design the hotel industry’s first fully organic uniform for Scandic, will be revealed by the end of 2010...
