Stay In Cool Copenhagen Without Spending A Fortune
|
|
Winter 2010
If you like good quality design, but don’t like to spent a fortune on hotel accommodation, then the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group’s new luxurious 2-star hotel “Wakeup Copenhagen” in the centre of the Danish capital is an obvious place to stay in 2010.

Wakeup Copenhagen** opened its doors to the public on 1 September 2009 and is designed by Danish architect Kim Utzon, son of Jørgen Utzon who built the Sydney Opera. When entering the hotel you are instantly met with Danish Design; the famous “Swan chairs” designed by the “grand old man” of Danish furniture design, Arne Jacobsen, as well as new designer items from the young Danish design team

behind the interior label Normann Copenhagen. As one might expect from a 2-star hotel, the rooms are small, but this is overly compensated for with its cleverly furbished rooms in light and bright colours, free internet access and flat screens on display. Staying at Wakeup Copenhagen also gives you easy access to all that the Danish capital has on offer. From the hotel it is only a five minute walk to the City Hall Square, and you don’t have to waste precious time on transportation to and from Copenhagen Airport either, as the central station is only minutes away too. Wakeup Copenhagen is the first part of a new large building complex by the Arp-Hansen Hotel Group consisting also of the new Tivoli Congress Centre and 4-star Tivoli Hotel.

Getting around..? If you wish to save even more money, consider purchasing a Copenhagen Card on arrival at the airport. The city-travel-pass will give you free public transportation in the Greater Copenhagen Area and discounts to over 60 sights and attractions.
Getting there..? Norwegian and SAS Scandinavian Airlines offer frequent and convenient flights from London Heathrow, London City Airport, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Dublin to Copenhagen. Flight times are under 2 hours!
