Christmas at Herningsholm with Jim Lyngvild's The Line of Kings
November 24th - December 10th, on selected days and times.
Experience a selection of magnificent portraits of past kings and queens along with lavish costumes and curated artifacts in a beautifully decorated manor at Herningsholm this upcoming Christmas.
Artist and designer Jim Lyngvild, in his exhibition and the book "Danish Kings and Queens from Gorm to Margrethe II," has recreated the past kings as they were—flesh and blood people with emotions and shattered dreams, pride, and grandiosity.
The exhibition has been visited by over 450,000 guests and the book served as the basis for the popular TV2 program series "Ingemann & Kongerækken." Now, a portion of the exhibition takes over Herning's oldest building, with references to Herningsholm's history.
So, what is the actual connection between Herningsholm and the Danish kings? You'll be amazed by the beautiful large portrait paintings and opulent costumes, which in a captivating and fascinating manner, tell the story of Denmark's monarchy. At the same time, you can find this year's Christmas gifts in our newly arranged shop at the beautiful manor.
