Fredensborghusene designed by Jørn Utzon was built in 1962-63 on an initiative of the association Danes Worldwide. The buildings are today considered an architectural gem

Utzon was inspired by Chinese building style. The houses in Fredensborg are an upgraded version of the houses in the Forbidden City in Beijing. The complex consists of 30 terraced houses, 47 farmhouses and a community house with restaurant, banqueting rooms, and nine guest rooms.
