Vendsyssel Kunstmuseum

At Vendsyssel Art Museum you can experience contemporary Danish art closely connected to North Jutland.

Landscapes and portraits are the backbone of the collection that includes artists like John Hofmeister, Svend Engelund, Poul Anker Bech and many others.

In addition to paintings the museum's collections also include sculptures, lithographics and traditional handicrafts.

Vendsyssel Art Museum presents special exhibitions 4-6 times per year. Their own collections are always one
step ahead of changing trends.

Museum Building
Vendsyssel Art Museum is located in the old Bechs Klædefabrik (Textile Factory) in the middle of Hjorring, which has been transformed into a modern and beautiful art museum by architecture firm CF Moller. The museum is decorated with furniture by the internationally renowned furniture designer Poul Kjaerholm, who was born and raised in North Jutland.
In 2009 Vendsyssel Art Museum expanded to include an Exhibition Centre for the painter Niels Larsen Stevns that houses various displays of his works.
