BISSEN MTB

BISSEN is a cycling event based on Frederiksø, the former shipyard island in the centre of Svendborg. The event follows GPX-based routes where participants navigate for themselves and ride in traffic according to the rules of the road. The format was tested successfully in 2025 and continues in 2026.

There are three distances: #SVEND at 29 km, suited to MTB, #BUMS at 59 km, suited to gravel, and #BISSE at 99 km, also suited to gravel. The routes are known for their variation and combine city hills, gravel roads, small country roads and established blue MTB trails in the nearby forests.

Community and atmosphere are the main focus, while timing plays a simpler role. Manual timing is available at the finish, and results are shown in a list without podium ceremonies or prize-giving for first, second and third place. Instead, there are raffle prizes and an award for the strongest team spirit, given to the club with the most participants.
