In the heart of Rønne, you will find Bornholms Teater, located inside the atmospheric Rønne Theater from 1823 – one of Denmark’s oldest operating theatre buildings. Here, performing arts, Bornholm stories and cosy theatre atmosphere come together in beautiful historic surroundings in the middle of town.

Bornholms Teater creates productions inspired by the island’s culture, people and history while working closely with local artists and cultural organisations. Throughout the year, the theatre presents its own productions, guest performances and cultural experiences for both children and adults.

Theatre experiences and performances in 2026

In 2026, Bornholms Teater will among other things present the musical performance “Drømmen om Bornholm”, which tells the story of life as a newcomer to the island through humour and satire. The season also includes a variety of performances, guest productions and cultural events in collaboration with Rønne Theater and Teaterforeningen Bornholm. See the programme here.
