Behind the shop are Dorte and Jimmy, who opened Ærøpigen together in 2020. Today, Dorte takes care of the day-to-day running of the shop and welcomes visitors to this lovely little place.

Here, you'll discover a wide selection of yarn in different colours, qualities and price ranges from brands such as CaMaRose, Istex and Mayflower. You'll also find knitting patterns from designers including PetiteKnit, Skovsby Strik and CaMaRose, along with a great range of accessories for knitting, crocheting, embroidery and sewing.

Ærøpigen is also a cosy gathering place for craft enthusiasts. Dorte regularly hosts craft café gatherings, inspiring talks and events such as Strik i Gågaden (Knitting in the Shopping Street), where handicrafts, good conversations and a sense of community go hand in hand.
