The Armoured Vehicles and Tank Society

At GHRVPK, you can get up close to historic military vehicles and, among other things, experience what a tank looks like inside. Visitors are allowed to touch the vehicles, and it is possible to climb onto and inside several of them.

The association is not a museum as such, so access depends on the association’s activities. See GHRVPK’s website for current opportunities to visit and take a guided tour.

The association was founded in 2007 with the aim of collecting, restoring, maintaining and preserving older military-historical equipment, including armoured vehicles and other vehicles that have been used by Gardehusarregimentet, Sjællandske Livregiment and Danske Livregiment.

The association is based at the old mobilisation depot in Fredskoven and the former tank workshop in Kalby Ris. Here, it has workshop facilities, storage facilities and four large garages, where work is carried out on everything from military bicycles to tanks.

The vehicles belong to the Danish Armed Forces and are on loan to the association through Danske Hærhistoriske Museer.

The association’s motto is “Nihil nimis magnum - nihil nimis parvum”, meaning “Nothing is too big - nothing is too small”. This is quite fitting for its work, which ranges from military bicycles to tanks.
