One image, one month, one year at Rudolph Tegner Museum

How do twelve different people interpret the relationship between culture, nature and humanity? Photographer Frida Gregersen explored this over an entire year. She selected a pedestal that would normally hold a sculptural artwork as a symbol of culture, and invited twelve people to be photographed with it.

The twelve participants were born in each of the months during the project period. All were given free rein in how they wished to be photographed and how they interpreted the pedestal; some brought their dog, while others stood only in their underwear.

A treasure hunt for images in the sculpture park

You can now take a walk through the sculpture park and see the results of Frida Gregersen’s work. The portraits are placed in the locations where each participant chose to be photographed.

Go on a treasure hunt in the sculpture park at Rudolph Tegner Museum and find all twelve portraits from the twelve months of the year.

“The pedestal was transformed into a ritual object – a centre of the world, capable of opening both inner and outer layers.”
— Photographer Frida Gregersen
