Route description
From Østerlars Rundkirke you pass the waterfall of the Kobbeåen river shortly after. Various gravel roads and small roads lead you up into the terrain around Rø Plantage. Here you take a northern turn at the beautiful dammed lake Søndre Borgedal, a northern turn, and drive along hilly gravel roads through the northern part of Rø Plantage.
After Rø Plantage you hit various gravel roads and pass the beautiful rift valley Kleven. Close by you can park your bike and follow the signs to the high heath bog Spellinge Mose.
Several gravel roads and small roads lead to Rutsker Højlyng, and well outside it you hit small roads that lead back towards Rø Plantage.
Here you drive through the southeastern part of Rø Plantage, after which the tour ends back at Søndre Borgedal. You can either roll (downhill) back to Østerlars, or perhaps point the bike towards Gudhjem for an ice cream or a cup of coffee.
Here you can easily get back to Østerlars via the official cycle route.
The tour can be combined with both the Northland Grande Loop and the Highland Loop. In addition to small and large gravel roads, the route follows smaller small roads to connect the different areas.
