Birkebæk Plantage
Birkebæk planatation is located 10 kilometers south from Herning. The area has many forest paths and some good vantage points.

In the edge of the forest area there are three Bronze Age hills "Hjortsballehøje". By the two greatest hills you can see two stones which are set up as a memorial of the Hedeselskabets foundation and are seen as a type of birth certificate for the Danish Hedeselskab.
