Boller Castle Park and Flower Garden
A visit to Boller Castle Park offers beautiful scenery and excursions under the open sky. Here you can feel the history and see one of Denmark’s oldest trees, the approximately 1000-year-old hollow oak.
Boller Castle Park
At Boller Castle, on the south side of Horsens Fjord, you will find the Boller Castle Gardens.
As you walk through the beautiful old iron gates, you will be greated by many exciting plants, distributed in themed gardens. You can for example see poisonous medicinal herbs, fig- and fruit trees or sit on the benches and enjoy the view of the lake in the Japanese Garden, where you sometimes get to see one of the park's small turtles.
The flower garden
In the flower garden you will find, among other things, Fuchsia, Roses, Monastery plants, Primula and Geraniums and you will also find the beautiful Japanese Garden landscaped with rippling water and rare plants. You can bring your own picnic basket and enjoy a meal at the set of tables and benches or bring blankets.
Feel the history
Something very special about Boller Castle Park is the old hollow oak tree. It is about 1000 years old and with its high age, it is one of the oldest trees in Denmark, that has stood since the Viking Age. From the oak there is a view to Boller Castle and the surrounding moat, where large carp live. Boller Castle has an exciting history. King Christian 4 had connections here in the 17th century, which you can learn more about on the information board placed in front of the oak.
