Day of the (Odense) Fiord
Every year on the second Sunday in September, the fjord area is transformed into a vibrant centre for one of Denmark's most traditional nature events - Fjord Day.
Experience Odense Fjord - a day full of activities
With over 25,000 visitors annually, this event, which had its humble beginnings in 1991 around Odense Fjord, has developed into a regular part of the Danish nature calendar.
Spanning both Odense and Kerteminde Fjords, the event offers a day of activities at four main locations: Klintebjerg, Boels Bro, Seden Strandby and Stige Ø. These locations provide the setting for a variety of experiences under the themes of nature, environment and sustainability, health and cultural history. With over 150 committed organisations, schools, companies and private contributors, a day packed with inspiring and educational activities for all ages is guaranteed.
This event is the product of a solid collaboration between the municipalities of Kerteminde, Nordfyn and Odense, supported by financial contributions from local and national sponsors. Fjord Day has inspired similar events both in Denmark and internationally, and is now part of Nature Week - a testament to its lasting impact on nature awareness.
