Gyldensåen
Gyldenså on Bornholm flows through one of the island’s beautiful and protected rift valleys. Surrounded by lush woodland, rocky terrain and gentle streams, it offers a peaceful nature experience away from the more visited spots. Especially in spring, the valley comes alive with rich vegetation and vibrant colours.

The Gyldenså valley
Take a walk through the Gyldenså valley, one of the island's beautiful rift valleys.
Gyldensåen is a typical Bornholm rift valley with natural woodland that includes ash, hornbeam and bird cherry. The plant growth, and spring flora in particular, is very lush.
Gyldesåen Stream is filled with granite boulders in several places and contains a fine population of sea trout and eel. The remains of an old trout weir are visible near the mouth of the stream.
Gyldenså Valley is a designated conservation area to preserve its scenic and scientific assets. A path open to the public follows the strem valley for one kilometre.
