Hangaards Have

Hangaards Garden is a relaxing paradise for anyone looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - a little pocket of time where you don't have to keep an eye on your phone.

Hangaards Have is a relaxing paradise for anyone looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - a little pocket of time where you don't have to keep an eye on your phone.

The garden welcomes guests to an idyllic sanctuary where small or large groups can gather for a day filled with cosiness, play, nature and cultural experiences. With its 22,000 m2, the garden is the perfect place to unfold a picnic blanket and enjoy a packed lunch outdoors with the whole family. The garden invites both young and old to play on the green lawns, cosy moments with marshmallows roasted over an open fire, and inspiring art experiences in the Old Stable.

Hangaards Have is the created by designer Anna Hangaard, who shaped the garden from a small shelterbelt between fields and forest into a blooming gem. Since the garden was founded in 1986, it has evolved into a local landmark, with rare trees, rose garden, garden pond, labyrinth and special areas designed to promote relaxation, play, games and sensory experiences.
Visitors can enjoy the sight of multi-coloured floral displays, explore water features, and find tranquillity in the gardens' green oases or space on the lawn for play and picnics. Paths through the garden lead to cosy nooks and small garden spaces - ideal for those who want to enjoy a quiet moment with lunch or a good book in the open air.

Hangaards Have was taken over in 2021 by Diana and Dennis Klok, who chose to reopen it to visitors the following year. The Kloks come from t
he Netherlands and, with their background in agriculture and pedagogy, have given the garden new vigour and new activities.

In the coming season, the garden will feature three art exhibitions and several new, free and child-friendly activities centred around our little mascot: Didi the Sea Troll. In June 2024, we will launch the Troll Hunt - a treasure hunt designed to engage the youngest guests.

Hangaards Have has coffee/tea and cake in the Café, where younger guests can also find a stack of free activity prints, crayons and toys. The garden, as well as our facilities and car park, is wheelchair accessible and our guests are always welcome to contact us for information about accessibility. We will go to great lengths to create space for everyone.
