8 March

International Women's Day was proposed in 1910 at the International Women's Congress in Copenhagen by Clara Zetkin, a German socialist and president of the Women's Congress. Equality was the main headline, and it included the demand that women be given political influence, education and work on an equal footing with men. Since 1921, 8 March has been celebrated around the world.

An exciting day

This year's theme is Health, Care and Feminism, and the day will feature various events and activities at the museum, including writing workshops, a debate on women's health, a presentation on Women Know Your Body, and concerts with Trinelise Væring and daughters.

Admission to the museum and activities is free throughout the day during opening hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the annual Equality March demonstration will commence.
