Klostermarkskirken

Klostermark Church is one of Denmark's youngest and most beautiful churches.

It was consecrated on Whit Monday, June 8, 1992, by Bishop Bertil Wiberg of Roskilde.

The church was designed by architect Knud Wohlert. Behind the altar hangs a 10 square meter tapestry designed by Naja Salto and woven in France. The altar silver was designed and made by silversmith Allan Scharff. Doves are a recurring motif in both the altar silver and the tapestry. The baptismal font is made of glass.

Klostermark Church is located at Ahorn Alle 46C. The church's history began in a basement in Søndre Park, where gatherings were held that developed into coffee services. When the former Sdr. Park School (now Campusskolen) was built in 1975, services were held in one of the school's classrooms. However, it was inconvenient to have to pack everything up and set it up again every time they met. As a result, there arose a desire for a proper church in the southern part of the town.
