A modern interpretation of Lucia

The Lucia procession is a beautiful Nordic tradition celebrated every year on 13 December. In Randers, we celebrate a little earlier with a procession that stretches through the city centre, led by an impressive Lucia bride. Participants, including local schoolchildren and volunteers, carry small lanterns as they move through the city wearing Lucia dresses made from recycled materials from Aarhus University Hospital.

An experience for the whole family

The procession sets off from Østervold, where it winds its way through the town’s streets to Kirketorvet, before ending back at Østervold. The event brings light and warmth to the darkness of winter and fosters a strong sense of community.
