Lyngby Church

Lyngby Church is a medieval church and a so-called towerless church, meaning that it was built without a tower. The church porch was added in the 19th century.

Inside the church, you can see several historical details. The altar and pulpit date from around the year 1600, while the altar decoration is a crucifix from around 1475. At the western end of the church, there is a gallery with paintings from 1737.

In the nave, a memorial plaque commemorates the parish’s fallen from 1864. The church bell dates from 1589, and the baptismal font has a South German baptismal dish dated to 1575.

In the church porch, you can also see a fragment of a runestone. The inscription can no longer be read, but the stone once stood in the churchyard wall.
