Mandø Ebbevej

At Mandø Ebbevej you can experience one of the Wadden Sea's most special places.
Here the road becomes the seabed twice a day when the tide rises, and reappears when the water recedes. The characteristic "brooms" show the old ebb road, which for generations has been the connection between Mandø and the mainland.

Here you can feel that the Wadden Sea is a living and dynamic landscape, where nature rules.

Experience the seabed at low tide

The landscape changes from hour to hour, and along the way you can experience small animals in the mudflats, mussel shells and a very rich birdlife. Many migratory birds use the area as a resting and feeding place on their long journeys.

The Wadden Sea often looks calm, but it is still the sea. Therefore, stay close to the starting point, follow the signs, and avoid tidal channels, salt marshes, salt marshes, flocks of birds and seals. The water returns quickly, and conditions can change in a short time.

Mandø Ebbevej is not the road to Mandø for cars

Mandø Ebbevej is today a historic access road and may not be used by private cars. If you drive to Mandø, you should use Låningsvejen further north, where it is always important to be informed about tides, water levels and current driving conditions.
