Kjeldgård Manor – history and mystery in the manor park
The name Kjeldgård derives from “Kildegård,” named after a sacred spring near the estate, known to exist as early as the 1500s. The main building was constructed in the late 18th century, with timber-framed wings.
A mysterious legend is tied to Kjeldgård: at midnight, a young woman is said to visit the so-called “Virgin Tree” in the park, carrying a dead child. She unwraps the child and lets it fall into a hollow in the tree. The identity of the woman and child remains unknown.
Surrounded by beautiful nature and rich cultural history, Kjeldgård is a fascinating destination for visitors.
