Go underground and experience Denmark during World War II.

Meet four resistance fighters and a Danish Nazi and delve into their difficult choices and dilemmas during the German occupation 1940-1945. Wire tap phone conversations, crack the German codes or try to make illegal magazines yourself. You can also see rare and unique objects from the occupation period such as the execution poles from Ryvangen, where resistance fighters were shot, or coat belonging to the resistance fighter 'Flammen'.

The Museum of Danish Resistance is about the choice to join the resistance or not. Deep into the occupation, the choice was not as clear as it is for us later, and the consequences of choosing a side were both incomprehensible and potentially catastrophic.

The five historical figures who guide you through the exhibition have all chosen a side, and everyone must live with the consequences.

The Museum of Danish Resistance is located in Churchillparken at Kastellet in Copenhagen.
