Puggekullekær
Puggekullekær in Almindingen is a peaceful forest lake surrounded by hills and quiet nature. It offers a calm and scenic setting in the heart of Bornholm’s largest forest.

Charming forest lake
The lake was originally a peat bog in the northern part of Almindingen. It ended in the mid-19th century and today the lake appears as a larger body of water and not as a bog.
The water in Puggekullekær is 130 meters above sea level, surrounded by hills and excess water is drained away through a dug ditch via Aaremyr and on to the Læsåen river
The vegetation in the bog is reminiscent of other old heather bogs in Almindingen.
The area also offers several beautiful hiking opportunities. If you follow the Højlyngstien south of Puggekullekær, you will pass Almindingen's famous Rokkesten. You can also choose the smaller path along the stream between Puggekullekær and Kohullet, where you will move through a lush area with many different mosses - an atmospheric route towards Rokkestenen.
