Restaurant Herthadalen dates back to 1788 and is now a popular venue for private functions, surrounded by protected countryside. With a focus on organic ingredients and local craftsmanship, food is always at the heart of the experience.

A complete dining experience

When you visit Herthadalen, you can experience the kitchen’s uncompromising approach to flavour. The restaurant holds the Bronze Organic Cuisine Label, and the menu is based on seasonal ingredients – often grown at Herthamarken, the restaurant’s own organic vegetable garden just 10 minutes away. The restaurant also works closely with local producers and passionate food makers.

Restaurant Herthadalen aims to make the best possible use of its ingredients and uses the whole animal – from nose to tail. Here, the meal is a complete experience with a focus on good craftsmanship and careful use of ingredients.

Enjoy summer on the terrace

During the summer months, as well as for occasions such as Easter, St Martin’s Eve and Christmas, the restaurant also welcomes guests who are not attending private functions. And when the weather allows, you can sit on the large terrace and enjoy views of the forest, garden and the small woodland lake, Knapsø.

Take a taste of the experience home

The restaurant also has a small farm shop where you can buy selected local ingredients and products to take home. These include chocolate from Friis-Holm, cider from Olsens and apple mead from Snoremark. The shop accepts cash, MobilePay and Dankort.

Celebrate in the heart of the forest

Herthadalen offers function rooms all year round, with the forest as a natural backdrop. The surrounding area is ideal for outdoor activities, with plenty of space for both play and socialising in the open air. The day is planned in close dialogue with the organisers, with the option to tailor both the menu and programme.
