In the heart of Ribe, right next to the old station, you will find Ribe Pakhus – a historic building with a distinctive atmosphere, plenty of character and a lively buzz all year round.

The listed warehouse from 1875 has served as a storehouse, a rail freight facility and a customs post over the years. Today, the historic setting has been given new life as a café, restaurant and cultural center, where the past is still tangible as guests gather over good food, coffee, cake, music and enjoyable experiences.

Step inside Ribe Pakhus and you enter a large, atmospheric space where the historic surroundings blend with a warm and welcoming interior. The room is divided into lots of small, cozy retreats, where you can find your own spot – whether you have come for a lovely breakfast, a quiet cup of coffee, lunch with the family or a relaxing time with friends.

An abundance of living green plants helps create a lush, relaxed atmosphere, bringing warmth and life to the warehouse's raw interior. There is room here for both larger gatherings and quieter moments.

In our café and restaurant, we take pride in serving delicious food made from scratch, bringing together quality, good ingredients and care. We prioritize local suppliers and work with producers in our surrounding area because we want to support local businesses and create a closer connection between our guests, the ingredients and the area we are part of.

Organic ingredients are also an important part of our values. We are committed to using organic ingredients, and more than half of the ingredients we use are organic. For us, it is about making considered choices and offering food prepared with care – without compromising on flavor, quality or the pleasure of eating.

And then, of course, there are the coffee and cakes! Our attractive, inviting cake display is filled with homemade cakes from our own kitchen, tempting both the eye and the sweet tooth. There is something special about settling into a comfortable seat, letting your shoulders relax and enjoying freshly brewed coffee and home baking in these historic surroundings.

Ribe Pakhus is also much more than a café and restaurant. The building hosts everything from concerts, talks, communal meals and workshops to private celebrations of life's big occasions – often in close collaboration with local associations and cultural organizations.

As evening falls, the warehouse takes on a distinctive atmosphere. We regularly host evening events where good food and enjoyable experiences go hand in hand. These might include a communal meal, a cozy evening with dinner and music, or other events where food is a natural part of the experience. People gather around the tables, and a sense of community flourishes in the historic setting.

This makes the building a lively meeting place for Ribe and the many guests visiting the town and the Wadden Sea area.

The raw, historic surroundings also provide a setting for parties and events, with space for around 110 seated dining guests. Whether the occasion is a birthday, a wedding, a reception or another special event, the warehouse offers an atmospheric setting full of character.

Room for everyone – including the little ones

We believe the best places are those where the whole family feels welcome. That is why Ribe Pakhus has room for everyone – including children.

While the adults enjoy a good cup of coffee, a meal or a slice of homemade cake, children can explore their very own little warehouse world. There are games, drawing materials, a train set and, not least, a large play train where children can pretend to be freight handlers, moving parcels in and out of the train.

In this way, the warehouse's history of trains, goods and transport also becomes part of the children's experience – through play, imagination and curiosity.
