A shelter designed for togetherness

Shelter Bifrost accommodates up to 10 people and is ideal for families, groups of friends or smaller outdoor communities. The shelter is located in Sillebro Ådal – a 1.8 km long and approximately 90-hectare nature and recreation area that runs through the town yet still feels far away from the pace of everyday life. Here, you can enjoy the evening around the campfire, prepare meals on the grill and fall asleep to the sounds of nature.

Nature and outdoor life in the heart of Frederikssund

Sillebro Ådal offers a varied landscape with open areas, paths and green spaces that invite both play, relaxation and quiet moments. The area features several shelters and shared facilities, creating a lively yet still relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to Shelter Bifrost, there are several other shelters in the area with different capacities. This includes smaller shelters for 3–6 people, larger shelters for up to 10 people, as well as the Midgård shelter site, which can accommodate up to 28 people and can be booked for up to two days. This makes the area suitable for both small groups, larger communities and longer stays.

Shelter Bifrost is located approximately 50 metres from a larger shelter site, while still offering its own peaceful setting.

Practical information and directions

Shelter Bifrost is free to use and operates on a first come, first served basis. If you wish to secure a place, the shelter can be booked via Friluftsguiden. Booking requires the creation of a user profile and gives priority access if a booking confirmation can be presented.

The area includes tables and benches as well as shared barbecue and campfire areas, and firewood is supplied once a week. Water and toilet facilities are available in a building approximately 100 metres from the shelters, near the allotment gardens at the end of Ågade.

There are two parking options: a small car park at Ågade 56, 3600 Frederikssund, from where there is a 200-metre walk along a gravel path to the shelter, and a larger car park at Idrætsbyen, Bonderupvej 2C, with approximately 550 metres along a gravel path to the shelter.

Activities and routes in the area

Sillebro Ådal offers more than just overnight stays – the area features excellent walking and cycling routes, including Fjordstien (Regional Route 40), which runs along the fjord approximately 2 km from the shelter site and provides great opportunities for trips before or after your stay.
