Ekkodalen (The Echo Valley)
Ekkodalen (The Echo Valley) in Almindingen is Bornholm’s largest rift valley and one of the island’s most popular natural attractions. The valley stretches through forested landscapes with steep rock walls and lush surroundings, where you can walk along scenic trails and experience the famous echo. Ekkodalen in the Almindingen forest on Bornholm is the island’s longest rift valley (abt. 15 kilometres or abt. 10 miles), and ranges about 2 kms through the forest Almindingen itself.
Echo in the Echo Valley
When you visit Ekkodalen on Bornholm, make sure to test the echo. Try to call towards the cliffside and listen for the echo to come back. The best point to hear the echo is at the H.C. Ørsteds Kilde (well) abt. 20 metres to the left from the entrance to the echo valley.
