M/F Columbus | The ferry between Kulhuse and Sølager

See Fjordlandet from the water aboard the charming M/F Columbus, which has connected Sølager and Kulhuse Harbour since 1962. The crossing takes around 10 minutes, making the ferry a convenient, long-standing shortcut – and a small experience in its own right.

An experience on the water

On board M/F Columbus, you can enjoy a peaceful crossing of the fjord with views of the coastline, small islands and birdlife. The ferry carries pedestrians, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and caravans, making it a flexible option for many different types of travellers.

Why take M/F Columbus?

For more than 60 years, the ferry has provided a quick and atmospheric route between Sølager and Kulhuse. It saves you a longer drive around the fjord while adding a small maritime experience to the journey. The ferry is a convenient choice if you are heading for a café, the beach, a cycling trip or local attractions on either side of Isefjord.

For the whole family

The ferry is suitable for cyclists, walkers, families with children, motorcyclists, motorists and anyone who would like to experience the fjord from the water. The short crossing is easy for children and provides a convenient shortcut between the two sides of the fjord.

How to travel

The ferry operates between Sølager and Kulhuse Harbour during the summer season, from the beginning of April until the end of the Danish autumn school holiday.

Tickets are purchased directly on board, and parking is available at both harbours. See the timetable and fares at www.mfcolumbus.dk.

M/F Columbus is operated by FH Support in cooperation with Frederikssund Municipality.
