Omø is a small, peaceful island of 4.5 km² in the southern Great Belt, just south of Agersø. Its landmark is Omø Lighthouse, rising above the flat landscape and offering wide views across the sea almost all the way round the horizon. Around the lighthouse spreads a distinctive heath and dry-grassland habitat with special flora, and the island is known for its rich birdlife and well-preserved village. The ferry runs from Stigsnæs via Agersø. With its calm atmosphere, beaches and star-filled night skies, Omø was named Island of the Year in 2023 – a favourite for nature lovers seeking peace.
