Sejerø – island in the Kattegat
Sejerø is an elongated island in the Kattegat with a striking lighthouse, hilly Ice Age scenery, beaches and rich birdlife – a peaceful island retreat an hour's ferry from Havnsø.

Sejerø is an elongated 12.5 km² island in Sejerø Bay, a good hour's ferry ride from Havnsø. Its landmark is Sejerø Lighthouse on the northern tip – first lit in 1852 and visible far out in the Kattegat. With only around 300 residents, the island offers quiet life in a hilly Ice Age landscape of fields, beaches and steep coastal cliffs. The main village, Sejerby, lies by the ferry harbour. Sejerø is known for its rich birdlife, bathing beaches and a special calm that makes it a popular destination for cycling holidays, walking and nature stays.
